New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett stated Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton broke “the code” when he known as Hackett’s tenure with the Broncos “one of many worst teaching jobs in NFL historical past” final week.

Hackett, who joined the Jets this season after being fired by the Broncos after 15 video games, known as the feedback “disappointing” and “unlucky.” However, Hackett added that he is glad Payton stated what he stated now reasonably than earlier than Week 5 when the Jets and Broncos play in Denver.

“I have been on this enterprise my entire life — 43 years,” Hackett stated. “As a coach, as a coach child, we dwell in a glass home… There is a code and there is a solution to get issues performed in that home. This previous week, it has been irritating and nasty. We’re all weak to that.”

When requested if he thought Payton cracked the aforementioned code, Hackett replied “I do”. He added that Payton didn’t name him and apologize to him and that he didn’t count on that from a Broncos coach both.

The Jets got here to Hackett’s protection shortly after Payton’s feedback had been printed. Head coach Robert Salih pointed to the crew’s highlight and suggested others to “hate away”. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers later known as Payton “insecure” and that he “must maintain my coaches’ names out of his mouth”. Offensive deal with Billy Turner, who together with Hackett performed for the Inexperienced Bay Packers from 2019-21 and with the Broncos in 2022, Payton is called a “(expletive) bum.

Payton ultimately admitted that he regretted what he stated. However the injury has already been performed. Now Saleh, Hackett and Rodgers are seemingly to make use of Payton’s phrases in opposition to him – particularly in a Week 5 matchup.
